Sorbie Tower and Motte

The tower and motte are located between Sorbie and Garlieston on B7052 in southwestern Scotland. Approximately  1 mile (1.6 km) east of Sorbie there is a somewhat hidden driveway off the north side of the road. Approximately 60 feet (20m) along the driveway on the right is Sorbie Cottage, a private residence (please do not disturb). A further 90 feet (30m) along the road you will see a gate on the right with "Sorbie Tower"clearly indicated.  The gate opens onto a small parking area.  The tower is directly ahead.  The motte is located in the woods directly east of the parking area.
