Sorbie is located in Dumfries and Galloway, southwestern Scotland.  The nearest sizeable town is Newton Stewart.  The nearest airports are Prestwick and Glasgow. Sorbie is about a two and a half to three hour drive from Glasgow. Don't let the short distances fool you, as roads are narrower and tend to pass through small villages. If you are used to North American highways, more than double your time estimate for driving distances.  If you are taking public transit, at least triple the time.

(e.g. It is 76 miles from Glasgow to Sorbie. In Canada or the USA, you would likely guess 76 minutes, but double that to 152 minutes and you are closer to the actual time it will take.)
