2009 Gathering Information
A special 2009 Gathering Event will be held
in Edinburgh
next year over the weekend of the 24, 25, 26 of July
as part of the
Homecoming Celebrations. The main events being Highland
Games held in Holyrood Park over the Saturday and Sunday, where
there will also be Clan tents (Clan Hannay has already booked
theirs). The AGM will be on the Friday evening in St Georges
West Church Hall, Shandwick Place, Edinburgh. 6.00pm for the AGM
and dinner at 7.30pm (GBP18.00 for dinner, no cost if just
coming to the AGM).
On the Saturday there will be a parade of
Clans from Holyrood to the Castle where a pageant will take
place. Numbers allowed in the parade are limited and to take
part in this and attend the pageant it is necessary to buy a
"passport". All the gold passports have been sold out. It was
agreed that The Chief would make an advance booking for Silver
Passports (GBP95.00) for all wishing to go, Bronze Passports may
still be available from
Homecoming. It
was also decided not to have the usual May Gathering but
to have some kind of event at that time (there will be a Clan
Working weekend at the Tower with a Saturday evening barbecue
and music).
